Position Requirements

Small graphic design studio needs an entry level Office Administrator/Acountant.

Needs to be detail-oriented, organizer, able to take direction, able to work with and without supervision, self-starter, problem solver, good with numbers, ....must have car.

Approx. pay range: $8 - $10/hr depending on computer skills and experience with software Quicken, Quark and FileMaker Pro. Above experience with additional sales / marketing capabilities could pay more.

We find without this experience there is a lot of on-the-job training (OJT) - even with quick learners, which of course is costly to us, hence the hourly limit. Even with that experience there is a lot of OJT because our type of work is very unique, being a graphic design studio. Cost estimates are in Quark, payables and receivables are in Quicken, contact / job organizing is in FileMaker Pro.

If a person brings good customer service, organization and heavy computer skills we can bring in at the mid-level.

The position also requires about 95% of the time in front of the computer, so not very fitting for a person desiring a more active job.

As a small graphic design studio each person can work directly with owners of small mom and pop shops that need a promo flyer or a new logo design.... to presidents of multi-million dollar companies that need a full corporate ID program.

We like someone willing to stay with us for at least a couple of years to cover the training time / costs. Being a small business we, unfortunately, can not compete with larger companies benefits. This can be a good launch pad if one wants to work with a larger accounting firm, but if one enjoys a friendly small creative office environment working with top local companies this postion would be ideal.
