PSA (Pacific Southwest Airlines) had a popular marketing campaign - I think targeted directly to 16 year old males such as myself - mini skirts, go-go boots and 70s bright colors...we'll it just made you want to fly. In my case my first time. Russell Sindler joined me on a round trip to LA just for the experience. My little instamatic recorded the milestone.

Oakland International Airport control tower.

On board the 727 back in Oakland - I shot another 727.

PSA flight back from L.A. - Monterey Bay.

The ticket - can you believe it - $16.50 both ways.

Flight back from L.A. - Seal Rock, Cliff House, Golden Gate Park and Beach.

Flight back from L.A. - different flight pattern than on the way out - San Francisco downtown.

Back at my home at 624 Coventry Rd., Kensignton, CA. Russell is holding the same ticket holder shown on the upper left of this web page. My pekingnese dog, Andy, posing.

The year before, fall of 1971, I started my first year as a Junior at ECHS. I had a Science class where Nathan Rector was the teachers aide. He was a popular nut who made all these crazy sound effects. He introduced me to Russ and his friend Chuck Perlow.

I would go to Russ's house above the Arlington in El Cerrito - we would listen to Santana "Aint got nobody to depend on" and watch flights from SFO and Oakland.
