• 1976_July 26
• Joined 411th Transportation Co., 9th Infantry Division.
Approx. 1 week at 45J2T ...not much work so begin OJT 90 days in Airframe Repair mostly on Hueys UH (Utility Helicoptor).
MOS: Airframe Repair 68G20 ...was accepted as 2ndary MOS.
• We ousted SSG Gross - nice guy - he taught me a lot... but he had an oversized attitude. He also kept on complaining how he wanted to go back to Alaska - so we greased all the right wheels and got him his wish! He never knew.
• 1976_August 15 - 1978_March 10
• So in came SSG James Leonard who was stationed in Italy. Knew his stuff and as long as you did your job right he was great to work with. I left for another company in March before 411th was deactivated.

Took a design class - I felt over my head - it was like an Ivy League school - big brick buildings, prim and proper students. I had a lot to prove coming in as some skinhead military guy.
