{ Not sure of the actual dates of these photos, just know what winter 1977 months they were between. Me re-up? Yeah right. Me with his engine. This was at the base auto shop. Looks kinda grungy doesn't it? Myself and Andy in Seattle, WA. You can't really see it but that is the Seattle Space Needle in the background. At this young age, 20, any small accomplishment was worth congratulating each other for. } |

We eventually worked out a deal: I would repaint his car and he would rebuild the tired engine in my Z-28. His Maverck had a hard top but had this fake rubber/fabric (I guess to make it look like a convertible) that was falling apart. I took that off, fixed some minor dents and repainted it the same pale yellow. Foghat Concert Link 1 Link 2 OK, here was the deal - we (mostly Andy - he was nuts) decided to go up to Seattle and see the Foghat concert. We had no tickets, hardly any money but plenty of dumb luck. As we were walking through the parking lot to the Key Arena Map , near the Space Needle, (I guess we thought we were going to sneak in somehow), a radio station van pulled up next to us. "He you guys some free concert tickets?" "Sure!" "OK, just tell 'em K??? readio sent you." We were blessed. Ah, but nose bleed, free tickets weren't enough for Andy - he slipped in through a ground floor door as someone was coming out. Not to be left out, I did the same thing with security not looking. It was worth it. Foghat was great! As you can see we got up preety close. Fool For The City, Slow Ride (Fool For The City September 1975), Drivin' Wheel, I'll Be Standing By (NIGHT SHIFT November 1976) I loved the long hair, up rock, blues origin back then - great driving music! My tastes have changed quite a bit since then but I still appreciate the old stuff. Taking the Z out for a spin - probably Foghat playing by the look of the speed. } |
