Fairfield Certified Farmers Market Open at New
County Building!

The Fairfield Certified Farmers Market, sponsored by the Fairfield Downtown
Association will open its 2005 season in a new location- the Solano County
Government Center Plaza- on Thursday, May 5th from 4 to 8pm. Farmers
and food vendors will set up their booths in Jefferson Street south of
Texas Street, with the entertainment and children's activities on the
Plaza itself.
2 Monica Zuniga Martin will bring her dance students, Grupo
Taconaso, to open the season and remember Cinco de Mayo. These dancers,
ranging in age from five to sixteen years old, dress in traditional Mexican
attire and perform a variety of time-honored Latino dances.
3 Free musical
entertainment is scheduled for each week, including local talent from
Danc-Sing Stars Studio, Brantley's Karate for Kids program, PACE and
Laurel Creek Elementary School.
4 Free children's arts and crafts projects
will be offered each week from 5pm until 7pm. Crafts projects include
kites, seeds planted in decorated pots, pinwheels, mosaics and more.
The projects are designed to appeal to kids of all ages, and parents
are invited to do the projects with their children.
5 To date, the following
vendors are scheduled to participate in the market this year: Cha's Farm,
Erickson Farms from Suisun Valley, Gold Rush Kettle Korn, Kia Thao, J & J
Farms, La Perla de Jalisco, Lone Oak Organic Ranches, Lujan Farms, Meyers
Fine Foods & BBQ, Michael's Franks, Ochoa's Flowers, Quick-N-Ezee Indian
Foods, Rodriguez Farm, Salami Lady, Spring Hill Jersey Cheese, Triple
Delight Blueberries, Vang Vegetable Farm and Xiong Produce.
